Organisations like SowGood are constantly changing and ever-evolving. No two days look the same for us — we're always implementing new ideas, collaborating with new schools, and refining existing programmes through an active feedback system.
|
|
So, we welcome you to Khet se Khat, a newsletter delivering you big news from our small farms and the small hands that get to play with its soil.

|
01 - New Ground
SowGood now in Gurjarat
|
|
|
|
|
|
We officially branched out and are excited to be working in a new state! We strategically selected two schools in Tundav, Baroda; a junior school called Samagra Shiksha Prathmik Shala , and a senior school, Patel Narvnirmaan Public School.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
The reason we chose this junior school is because it has a kitchen, so children can directly learn to grow food and consume it too! During our very first week, we introduced students to their new farm and helped them grow microgreens. They then harvested the greens by the end of the week and served them to their parents and teachers in a PTM on the weekend. It was an enriching experience to also introduce their parents to SowGood and involve them in our sustainable practices as well.

We really wanted to work with a senior school as well because we wanted to upskill the youth and improve future employment opportunities as well as encourage entrepreneurship. We have set up a waste management unit in this school and are trying to promote recycling and upcycling as a practice for a sustainable future as well as possible future avenues of work. We showcased some of our previous recycled projects to them and that inspired so many young boys and girls from the school to make beautiful bangles and flower pots with reused material!

02 - Partnership
|
Two New Schools in Delhi
|
|
|
|
|
We are so excited to collaborate with Genpact and Catalyst and bring SowGood to the MCD Schools of Anand Vihar and Shrinivaspuri, with the help of their CSR Partnerships Programme!
|
|
This means that two new groups of students, schools AND neighbourhoods will be introduced to the concept of sustainability, organic farming and waste segregation.
|
|
It is partnerships like these that truly help us to do what we've set out to perform, making more and more students nature-connected so that they grow up to be leaders of tomorrow who will keep nature at the center of their decision making.
|
|
When our SowGood class finishes with the rest of the school sometimes, we witness so many parents coming to pick up their children and more often than not, they stop by to meet us.
|
|
They tell us how their children are encouraging the family to reduce plastic use at home, helping out more, showing curiosity about where food comes from, and even eating more vegetables!
|
|
And we can not wait to hear from more parents around the neighbourhoods of Anand Vihar and Shrinivaspuri!

03 - Drive
Plastic Bottle Collection Drive
at Genpact Offices!
|
|
|
"Feed the monster, not the earth!"
|
|
|
|
|
|
Throughout the month of April, we collaborated with Genpact to collect plastic bottles from their offices in Delhi, Noida and Gurugram, to prompt people to think before throwing away waste. This activity urged them to segregate their waste , and the bottles collected will now be put to use by recycling and upcycling them into making useful units like bookshelves and planters for MCD Schools in Delhi.
